INTRODUCTION
Located just 50 minutes from Barcelona, 30 minutes from Sitges and 20 minutes from the golden beaches of the Costa Dorada is the impressive medieval fortified farmhouse of Masia Vallfort. This magical building is designated as a protected cultural asset of national interest and sits majestically overlooking the rolling vineyards of the celebrated Penedes wine and cava region D.O. Penedès). It’s impressive history dates all the way back to medieval times and was once even the residence of the Knights Templar.
Masia Vallfort has now been fully restored to modern standards of comfort and offers 11 comfortable en-suite bedrooms sleeping up to 31 guests. It’s the perfect place for relaxing breaks with family and friends as well as an ideal venue for weddings, celebrations and retreats amongst 3 hectares of peaceful gardens of olive trees, aromatic Mediterranean plants and, of course, the fantastic private swimming pool.

Interior The sprawling 700 m2 house has fully equipped kitchens, several cozy lounges, a dining room large enough for the whole group, patios, porches and all the space and facilities required to comfortably accommodate up to 31 guests. All of the bedrooms have exterior windows with beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards. There are 11 ensuite bedrooms configured as follows; 1. Macabeu – ground floor with double bed, toilet & shower. * Can sleep 4 guests with added beds. Exterior & Gardens The sprawling gardens of lawns, olive trees and aromatic Mediterranean plants offer a place in which to relax and unwind and seek out shady corners to rest out of the hot midday sun. The beautiful swimming pool is bathed in sunshine and comes with plenty of sunbeds and space for relaxation. The BBQ area is ideal for cooking and enjoying alfresco meals. Event & Celebration Spaces Vallfort has several different and flexible spaces that can be perfectly adapted to any event, both indoors and outdoors with up to 300 guests. The outside event spaces include: El Recó de l’Olivera: 800 m2 of beautiful lawns where you can celebrate a wedding ceremony under the shade of a hundred year old olive tree. L’Era: 400 m2 at the foot of the farmhouse, among olive trees, ideal for an aperitif or dinner. El Pou de Pedra: more than 400 m2 of open-plan tuff tiles, ideal for the aperitif, the banquet and even dancing. El Pati dels bambús: 190 m2 designed for a large open-air party. The inside event spaces include: Sala Vallfort: 340 m2 ideal for ceremonies or aperitifs in case of bad weather. Marmallà Hall: 270 m2 and with a capacity for 220 diners. We came to spend the weekend of our wedding at Masia Vallfort with friends and family. It is a very well-maintained farmhouse, decorated with great taste and in an ideal location!!! The pool is the final straw!! The treatment was also excellent at all times, Pablo answered all our doubts or requests (crib, high chair…)
Out & about
BY DAY
If you can drag yourself from the wonderful pool and gardens you'll find so much to experience and enjoy in the local area for all members of the party. For a start there are the numerous fantastic sandy beaches of the Costa Dorada just 20 minutes away.
Masia Vallfort is situated in the heart of the Penedes wine & cava region and so there are many excellent small local wineries and cava houses to visit and enjoy. Just a short drive away is historic Tarragona with its beautiful medieval centre and impressive Roman sites, such as the amphitheater overlooking the sea. The cosmopolitan city of Barcelona with its world-class attractions is less than an hour away. There is a choice of theme parks and attractions within an hour drive including Port Aventura, one of the biggest in Europe. Andorra, Girona and France are all within day trip distance.
BY NIGHT
There are numerous resorts along the Costa Dorada coast to visit in the evening. Just 30 minutes away is the highly popular seaside town of Sitges. The charming narrow streets of old town are packed full of bars and restaurants offering great cuisine and a laid back ambience. Stroll down to the seafront and take your pick from one of the many alfresco eateries. Not ready to go home yet? Don't worry, the nightclubs are legendary. In the summer there are often festivals and fireworks for a splash of local colour and culture.
The less touristy coastal town of Vilanova is another option for the evening with some good beach bars and restaurants along its attractive seafront. The delights of Barcelona are also within reach for an evening out. The city hosts many world-class music, cultural and sports events all year round.
SPORTS & ACTIVITIES
For those looking for more energetic distractions the nearby Mediterranean coast with its golden sandy beaches offers unlimited opportunities for water based sports like jetskis, para sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling, surfing and more. There are several sports marinas for boat rentals and fishing charters. The surrounding countryside offers fantastic hiking, mountain bike and horse riding trails to enjoy.

The stunning 270m2 air-conditioned Marmallà Hall is ideal for indoor celebration dinners for up to 220 guests in all seasons. The Sala Vallfort offers an alternative indoor venue for ceremonies and aperitifs in case of bad weather.
