This beautiful old farmhouse offers that perfect blend of rustic beauty and modern convenience. Every aspect of Masia Cal Mingo has been carefully thought through and beautifully executed, understated and sumptuous at the same time. It provides the perfect place for large groups of friends or several families holidaying together and it is a well established venue for weddings and other events with communal space for up to 100 guests.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS

Masia Cal Mingo can comfortably accommodate 18 guests, and this can increase up to 22 guests with extra beds supplied. There are 9 bedrooms in total: 6 in the main building (1 on ground floor with separate bathroom & 5 ensuites on 1st floor), 2 bedrooms in an apartment with 1 bathroom, and 1 in a cottage with separate bathroom. There are 8 bathrooms in total all with a shower and toilet.

Each amply sized room possesses its own personality and style with a common theme of comfort, elegance and warmth running throughout. Original features such as stone and woodwork have been retained and carefully restored. The palette is subdued with natural tones and textures accompanied by undercurrents of rustic colour.

All bedrooms have fans, central heating and mosquito nets.

The Apartment has a sofa bed in the living room, as optional extra bed for 2 guests. The bathrooms are equipped with organic soap and body lotion and hairdryer.

INTERIOR

The accommodation is divided into a six-bedroom main house plus two separate cottages, accessed externally and sleeping a further six guests between them. Both have their own living areas and one has its own kitchen too, offering great flexibility for anyone seeking a little independence and privacy.

In the main house, a spacious lounge with huge, plump sofas offers a relaxing space for those wanting to stretch out and catch a movie after supper. There is a TV, DVD player, Wi-Fi access, iPod dock, books and games. Giant French doors open onto one of the outside terraces while in the adjacent room is a long refectory style dining table, ideal for a family feast or lively dinner party. There’s even a traditional wine cellar filled with locally produced wines.

OUTSIDE

A very impressive, private driveway brings you to a large parking area and the entrance to the main house, its traditional ochre walls glowing in the sunshine. Guests will be enchanted by the sweeping views across the valley and surrounding vineyards. Mature palms, pines, ancient olive trees, cypresses and eucalyptus are scattered throughout the 4,000 square meter grounds, providing ample shady retreats for guests to chill out with a good book or a cooling drink.

A delightful 9m x 4m Z-shaped private swimming pool forms the centre-piece of the gardens and well-tended lawns while a built-in barbecue and covered dining terrace offers an atmospheric setting for those laid-back meals. A variety of outdoor furniture, brightened with cushions in vibrant Mediterranean colours, offers plenty of choice for relaxing alfresco. While adults will relish the chance to simply unwind in the idyllic surroundings, children will adore the space and freedom to run around the extensive grounds, not to mention the fabulous tree house.

THINGS TO DO

Masia Cal Mingo offers a haven of peace and relaxation but you’ll find so much to experience and enjoy in the local area if you can drag yourself away.

There are a collection of bars, restaurants and local shops all within a 5-minute drive and the bustling seaside town of Sitges is just 15 minutes away. Sitges has just about everything: sandy beaches, cool bars, quality restaurants, fashionable boutiques, festivals, fireworks, culture, nightlife and élan. 

Why not visit a local winery such as Torres, Finca Viladellops or Torre del Veguer? The legendary Cava Houses of Freixenet and Cordoniu are not too far away and offer fascinating and insightful tours.

The wonderful cosmopolitan city of Barcelona with its world-class attractions is a 35-minute drive and can also be easily reached by train or bus.

For those looking for more energetic distractions the nearby Mediterranean coast with its golden sandy beaches and numerous marinas offers unlimited opportunities for water based sports and boat rentals. The Garraf Natural Park is right on your doorstep and provides hundreds of kilometres of fantastic hiking and mountain bike trails. There is a tennis club in a nearby town and several golf courses in the area.

There is a choice of theme parks and attractions within an hour or so drive including Port Aventura, one of the biggest in Europe.
